Shakira Dazzles at the Met Gala: Sparkling on the Red Carpet for a Dazzling Debut

The Colombian artist was seen donning an ensemble inspired by the theme of “The Garden of Time.”

Shakira made a stunning appearance at the iconic Met Gala 2024. It was her first time attending the renowned fashion event, where she walked alongside Wes Gordon, the creative mind behind Carolina Herrera. Dressed in a striking red outfit custom-designed by Gordon to match the “Garden of Time” theme, Shakira dazzled in a bold strapless gown with intricate cut-out accents and sleeves that elegantly transformed into a flowing train.

She paired the stunning ensemble with a classic Cartier brooch adorned with trapeze-shaped diamonds and a large Burmese ruby cabochon weighing around 30 carats, along with a dazzling diamond necklace and elegant ruby and diamond rings.

On the flip side, Gordon was looking dapper in a sharp suit and accessorized with three vintage D.A. ond brooches from Boucheron dating back to the 1960s on his jacket lapel.

Tonight’s event at the Met Gala is all about celebrating the Costume Institute’s latest spring exhibit titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Featuring approximately 250 unique items from the institute’s collection, dating back 400 years, the event will showcase some hidden gems such as a 17th-century bodice from the Elizabethan era, iconic pieces by Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, as well as contemporary designs from renowned designers like Phillip Lim and Stella McCartney.

A detailed snapshot of Gordon’s stunning Bouchechon brooches was shared today. The talented Grammy Award winner hinted at her appearance by sharing a photo on her Instagram stories of a display featuring beautiful creations from the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibit. Tonight, Shakira will grace the red carpet for the first time since the release of her 12th studio album, Women No Longer Cry, in March. It’s been almost six months since her last red carpet appearance at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in November 2023.
